Ward Conference
Theme - 2 Nephi 10:23 "Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves - to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life."
Sister Davis: 1- increase faith. Have prayer and scripture study every day. 2- strengthen home and family. 3- Serve the Lord and His children. Great way to do this is through visiting teaching. God answers the prayers of others through us. D&C 81:5 "Wherefore, be faithful; stand in the office which I have appointed unto you; succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees."
Sister Norton: Cheer up your hearts! Be happy about the choices you make. We discussed the story about the boy who climbed a mountain and found a snake on top who asked him to carry him to the bottom. The boy reluctantly agreed, and once the snake had regained his strength it bit him. The snake said "you knew what I was when you picked me up." We are free to choose. We have been prepared for difficult times. Ether 2:25 - "And behold, I prepare you against these things; for ye cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds which have gone forth, and the floods which shall come..."
President Cooper: Life is better if we keep it simple. The Gospel is very simple. We know who we are, we know the Lord's plan, and we choose each day whether we follow it. When we forget who we are, we go down the wrong path. We are accountable for our choices and actions. Stay the course. Choose to be obedient.
