Hot Cocoa

Save the instant mixes for emergencies and make some real hot cocoa this winter!
 
Hot Cocoa
 
6 C milk (whole milk is best)
½ C sugar
½ C cocoa
 
There are two ways to make this cocoa.  Warm the milk in a saucepan, then add the sugar and cocoa and blend with a stick blender.  Or, if you don’t have a stick blender, in a small mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and cocoa very well with a wire whisk, then whisk into milk. Sugar and cocoa can be adjusted according to taste. If you want it extra rich, in addition to the sugar and cocoa add a handful of good quality chocolate chips and whisk or blend until melted.
