As many of you know, we are sponsoring a refugee family from Somalia/Kenya this Christmas. Darby & I went to visit the family in their West Valley home this morning, and were very humbled by how little they have. The family has 7 kids and another on the way. Dad works part time and the parents speak very little English. The school-aged kids speak English. All the kids were so sweet and well-behaved. We immediately fell in love with this sweet family! Their house is very sparse. Some of them sleep on the floor, and there is no kitchen table or chairs. We saw 1 toy in the entire house, and not a single book. We don’t have the resources to get the Awale family everything they need. If you would like to donate any of these items in new or gently used condition, this family needs all the help they can get!
